We are dedicated
to the safety and
wellbeing of animals
in our care.
North Queensland Animal Rescue is a Cairns based registered charity and is run entirely by volunteers. We accept dogs in need of re-homing through private surrender and from council pounds throughout north Queensland.
All dogs in our care are placed in approved, loving foster homes – we do not have a shelter facility.

Re-Homing
We understand that surrendering a dog is not an easy choice and we would like to help you avoid this whenever possible. Qld RSPCA have developed a tool that offers a variety of solutions to situations that you may be experiencing:
If you have exhausted all alternatives and require assistance to re-home your dog, please complete and submit the form below. Once we have received your surrender application we will assess your dog’s details, suitability for re-homing and availability of foster carers. While we aim to re-home as many dogs as possible, we are unable to assist in all cases. We will let you know as soon as possible if we are able to assist or not.
